2026 Ordination

Even the recent heatwave could not dampen the joy as friends and family gathered to celebrate the ordinations of our former students to the diaconate and priesthood. On Friday 26th, some of our Cornwall-based staff were delighted to join those being ordained to the diaconate at Truro Cathedral. The celebrations continued Saturday 27th at Exeter Cathedral, where we joined those being ordained to the diaconate in the morning and those being ordained priest in the afternoon. We send our warmest congratulations to everyone, along with our prayers and every blessing for their continued ministry.

Our 2026 Leavers

Saying goodbye is never easy, but it is always heartening to know that our paths so often cross again. We love seeing former students as we travel throughout the Southwest, and it is a real joy when they return to the Spiritus family for further study with us. Our wonderful 2026 cohort of leavers shared warm fellowship together before our annual end-of-term Eucharist, where we were delighted to welcome the Rt Rev. James Grier, Bishop of Plymouth, who presided and preached for us. This year also brought the joy of seeing a record number of ordinands, training with Spiritus as well as the Exeter Ordination Pathway, ordained to the diaconate to serve in communities across Devon and Cornwall. We give thanks for each of them and pray that their journey with God will continue to be a blessing to all they meet.

End of year celebrations

Staff and continuing students took the opportunity to bid farewell to final year students as they prepared for ordination and licensing. Emjoying a little bit of sunshine and plenty of joy, our Vice Principal, Rev. Dr Dominic Cyrus and Rev. Dr Anna Creedon led us in our final Eucharistic celebration for the academic year. Afterwards, we gathered outside for obligatory photos!
